It was introduced back in 1972 and since then, every year a theme is chosen for this day and the host country organizes events related to it..This year's theme is the fight against air pollution #BeatAirPollution. The host of the Day is China and the city of Hangzhou. Explaining why China, in the UN, stated that every year, 7 million people die prematurely from air pollution, 4 million of them are residents of the Asia-Pacific region. Nearly 600 thousand of them are children..To draw attention to the problem, the #MaskChallenge was launched: you need to post a photo with a breathing mask (or any creative interpretation) and tell what step you have taken to reduce your negative impact on the global problem of air pollution..Our example from @uf.bee: choosing to benefit local producers.
