Wax wrapper contains pores, through which unnecessary steam escapes, instead of forming condensate. Therefore, the results are appropriate: the bread in the package stays fresh, and in the wax wrapper it is simply soft.

If the bread in the package has only hardened, you can wrap the stale one in a clean cloth, put it in the oven and it will soften 🍞
